The HK Prize – A Literary Contest For Writers Specialising in Asian Culture and History
The hk prize is a highly competitive literary contest that offers writers who specialize in Asian culture and history the chance to win both monetary prizes as well as shopping vouchers and F&B perks. Although competition is fierce for the award, it’s still worth entering if you’re passionate about writing and have the talent to do so. However, before you submit an article, make sure to read through the rules carefully to ensure a smooth entry process and avoid any problems down the road.
The Hong Kong Book Prize is a literary prize awarded by the Society for the Study of Hong Kong Studies to authors for the best published work on the history, culture or current affairs of Hong Kong. It is one of the most prestigious awards in the field of Hong Kong studies, and its winners have often enjoyed international exposure as well as top-tier media coverage. The prize is open to both academics and general readers, and entries are judged by a panel of experts in the field.
Justice Centre Hong Kong works tirelessly to ensure that no migrant walks alone on their journey towards protection, justice and a decent life through its legal assistance, psychosocial support, research projects and community initiatives. Their dedication has paved the way for many of our fellow citizens to live a better life, and their work has made Hong Kong a safer place for everyone. Their tireless efforts and tenacity have not gone unnoticed, and their contribution has been recognised with this year’s Hongkong Prize.
To qualify for the Hong Kong Film Award, a film must satisfy two criteria: it must have been commercially released in Hong Kong within the past calendar year, and at least six members of the cast and crew must be Hong Kong residents. The HKFA also includes a Hong Kong New Talent category, which is for young filmmakers who have made outstanding contributions to the local industry.
In addition to a monetary reward, winners of the HK Science and Technology Innovation Prize will reap international recognition and top-tier media coverage, gain access to Hong Kong’s premier research facilities, and use the prize money for funding their next project. Winners are also invited to attend a special award ceremony, where they can share their research findings with the public and the industry.
The HK Prize was established in 2022 by a bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers including Congressman Chris Smith, Senator Jeff Merkley, Representative James P. McGovern, and Senator Marco Rubio. The prize aims to honor the work of Hong Kong democracy advocates who “represent millions of people who peacefully opposed the steady erosion of democratic freedoms” by both the government of Hong Kong, which is widely seen as taking orders from Beijing, and the Chinese authorities themselves. The six nominees are Jimmy Lai, Cardinal Joseph Zen, Tonyee Chow Hang-tung, Gwyneth Ho, Lee Cheuk-Yan, and Joshua Wong. All of the nominees except for Zen are currently serving jail sentences or awaiting trial under China’s draconian national security law, which has been used to crackdown on dissent during the recent protests in Hong Kong.
